REFERENDUM

At any meeting of the House of Delegates two-thirds of the delegates present and voting may order a referendum vote of the Medical Society of the State of New York on any question consistent with the Bylaws and in accordance with such regulations respecting the submission of the question as the House of Delegates may prescribe.

The members of the Medical Society of the State of New York shall vote by electronic means. The polls shall be closed at the expiration of fifteen days after the mailing of the question; and if the members voting shall comprise a majority of all the active and life members of the Medical Society of the State of New York, a majority of such vote shall determine the question and be binding on the State Society and the House of Delegates.

When the House of Delegates is not in session the Council may in a similar manner order such a referendum by a two-thirds vote.
